Why is Jairam Ramesh flying to Patna today?

Jairam Ramesh, Union Minister for rural development, will fly to Patna today to talk to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on the release of funds for laying roads between different districts in Bihar. Soon after the meeting, Ramesh is expected to discuss political issues with Nitish with the focus being firmly on the JD-U vote for the Food Security and Land Reforms Bills to be discussed in the upcoming Monsoon session of Parliament. The Congress can be sure of the support of at least 18 MPs of the JD-U as the Centre has allocated huge funds to Bihar.
