Food Security Bill, Good for Indias Poor?

India has about a third of the world's poor according to the World Bank and half of children below the age of five suffer from malnutrition. But critics say the Food subsidy program will further bloat the already expensive subsidy bill to around $20 billion and some contend that it is wrong to extend a food subsidy system that is already broken, blighted with corruption and in which much food never reaches many of those for whom it is intended.
