Live! Ishrat case: CBI to submit its first chargesheet today

The Central Bureau of Investigation is expected to file its chargesheet in the 2004 Ishrat Jahan fake encounter case in a special court in Ahmedabad today. The chargesheet is likely to include names of only those policemen who were at the scene of crime, sources have told NDTV.

 

Gujarat encounter cops DG Vanzara, Tarun Barot, JG Parmar and NK Amin are likely to be made the main accused in the CBI's chargesheet. Senior police officers PP Pandey and Kumar Kaushik are not expected to be named.Sources said that the CBI will seek more time from the court today to probe the 'conspiracy' angle behind the fake encounter.
