Fire in govt office building in Ballard Pier, Mumbai

NDTV reports that a government office building in the Ballard Pier in south Mumbai is on fire.

Fire fighters are putting out the fire with smoke emanating from the third floor -- the top floor of the building. The building is most likely an early 20th century one and Ballard Pier itself is almost entirely an office area.

The building is called Exchange Building and luckily enough is not congested which means the fire engines can get access. There are five fire tenders at the spot now. No information on whether anyone is trapped inside or the cause behind the fire. Details awaited
