FIR lodged against UP MLA, 6 others in murder case

An FIR was today registered against sitting Uttar Pradesh MLA Mukhtar Ansari and six others after a distant cousin of his rival and don Brijesh Singh was today allegedly shot dead in Varanasi, a senior police official said.

Satish Singh, 45, who was a history-sheeter, was shot dead by four motorcycle-borne persons while he was going to buy newspaper this morning in Darhara Bazar in Chaubeypur area, IG, law and order, R K Vishwakarma told reporters.

He said that Singh was a distant cousin of don Brijesh Singh, who is currently lodged in jail.
