Thinker Ashish Nandy, whose comments at the Jaipur Literature Festival has triggered a major controversy, has left the event to return home.

Nandy had allegedly said that people from OBC, SC and ST communities were the 'most corrupt'.

His comments were condemned by all major political parties.

A FIR was filed against him in Jaipur under Section 506 Indian Penal Code (criminal intimidation) and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

Nandy had later apologised for his comment.

The police have now sought the video footage of his comments from the festival organisers.
