Pranab to preside over governors' meet

A correspondent from Delhi reports: President Pranab Mukherjee has convened a two-day governors' conference from February 11 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The conference will deliberate on issues related to economic matters, the agricultural situation, internal security and women's rights.

In a circular letter, Omita Paul, secretary to President, invited suggestions from the governors to make the conference fruitful.

President Pranab Mukherjee has appointed Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan as the Doyen of Governors.

During the two-day conference, Narasimhan will conduct the proceedings and moderate the sessions.
