Rahul Gandhi has officially taken charge on Wednesday evening as the Congress vice president.

He met party general secretaries and heads of departments at the All India Congress Committee headquarters at 24, Akbar Road in New Delhi.

Rahul was elevated to the post at the party's Jaipur conclave held last weekend. As VC, he is second only to party president and his mother Sonia Gandhi.

"I don't want to get into negative politics, I want to do positive politics," he said as he took charge.
