Sonia Gandhi to choose new Gujarat CLP leader

Gujarat Congress MLAs, who held a meeting in Gandhinagar today, passed a resolution that the party president Sonia Gandhi will decide about the new state Congress Legislature Party leader.

The meeting of elected Congress MLAs, first since the declaration of results, was held here in the state Assembly in the presence of central party observers -- Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and party's state in-charge Mohan Prakash. During the meet, all the newly-elected Congress legislators passed a resolution authorising Sonia Gandhi to choose the new leader.
