Andhra court denies bail to Asaduddin Owaisi

A local court in Andhra Pradesh today dismissed the bail petition of MIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi in connection with a 2005 case against him for allegedly obstructing the then collector and other officials from discharging their duties.

Asaduddin, who was yesterday sent to judicial remand till February 2 in the case by the judicial first class magistrate and prohibition and excise special court in Sangareddy town, had filed a bail application. After hearing the arguments and counter-arguments from the defence and prosecution, the court in Sangareddy town of Medak district dismissed Asaduddin's bail plea, a senior police officer said.
