Jaipur Lit Fest: Won't be bullied by fringe group
January 21, 2013  14:17
Sanjoy Roy, convenor of the Jaipur Literature Fest says the organisers have not received any threat from the a panel of Islamic clerics and scholars during a national conference on "Azmat -E-Namoos -E-Rasool" (Respect and Honour of Prophet Muhammad) on Sunday. Roy said the organisers will not give heed to fringe groups intent on war mongering, but admitted that Pakistani authors will attend the Fest.

JLF-2013 will take place from January 24 to 28 at Diggi Palace in Jaipur.  Four authors created a furor last year when they read out passages from Salman Rushdie's Satanic Verses in public to express their support to Rushdie, whose visit to JLF-2012 had been opposed by the Muslim hardliners.
