After Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh addressed the Congress conclave in Jaipur.

Talking to party workers in Hindi, he said, "I am hopeful the strategy meet will provide new direction to the party. "

"We have tried to fulfill all promises made in our 2004 and 2009 manifesto. Our government performed better than the previous governments," he said. "Our country's development under NDA was 5.5 per cent. Under UPA, the GDP grew over 8 per cent. We achieved this during global economic recession."

He added that the party should accept it's shortcomings.
