Choice of Gadkari as BJP prez final: RSS to Advani

Despite fierce opposition from L K Advani, the Bharatiya Janata Party's ideological mentor the RSS has said that current president Nitin Gadkari must get an unprecedented second term.

Sources told NDTV that the RSS has made it clear to Advani that it will not support any other candidate for president. Advani had proposed Sushma Swaraj, currently Leader of the Opposition, for the post.

Sources say he had requested the RSS to consider Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi as another option.
