CNN-IBN reports: The BCCI is likely to shift the Womens World Cup out of Mumbai in order to keep the tournament. According to CNN-IBN sources, Kolkata and Bangalore are being considered as alternative venues.

This is being mulled after protests against Pakistani players in India following the killing of two Indian soldiers at the Line of Control earlier this month.

The Pakistani players featuring in the Hockey India League had to fly back on Wednesday due to the vehement protests from several political parties and their supporters.

However, the two-city tournament is subject to visa approval for the Pakistani team. The Pakistani camp is optimistic that things will soon be back in order. There are fears that India could lose the tournament if the Pakistani team dont get to feature in it.
