Khurshid briefs PM on situation at LoC

External Affairs minister Salman Khurshid met the PM and briefed him about the situation at the Line of Control.

Reacting to the PM's statement, BJP senior leader Yashwant Sinha says the party welcomes the PM's tough stance, albeit late. He says India should call off the peace process with Pakistan.

This morning, National Security Adviser Shiv Shankar Menon met opposition leaders Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj on the situation at the Line of Control.

On Monday, after the BJP sharply criticised the government's policy on Pakistan, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had called up the two senior leaders and discussed the issue.
