Karnataka woman sold in Delhi, raped by buyer

20-year-old married woman from Karnataka was trafficked to the capital and raped allegedly by a man who bought her for Rs one lakh, the police said today. 

The incident came to light Ghazipur in east Delhi on January 9 when the victim managed to escape from captivity and approached police.

The accused allegedly bought her from a man who brought her here after promising job earlier this year.

The buyer allegedly raped her. He and his woman associate also beat her up. They were allegedly trying to hand over her to a prostitution ring in Maharashtra, the police said.
