January 15, 2013  13:00
Taking potshots at Manish Tewari over his comment that jingoism needs to be avoided, the BJP today said the Information and Broadcasting Minister as part of the ruling UPA should be willing to share with the country as to how the government plans to avenge the insult to India.

BJP leader Balbir Punj said ''Manish Tewari as a minister should not be merely commenting on what others have said''. "As a minister and part of the government, he should be willing to share with the country as to how the Government of India plans to avenge the insult to India and also the repeated assaults and incursions against our border," he added.

Tewari earlier cautioned against ''jingoism'' after the BJP mounted pressure on the Centre on the issue of beheading of an Indian soldier by Pakistani Army along the LoC.
