Matt Prior reveals role in Kevin Pietersen peace deal

England would have lost their Test series in India 4-0 before Christmas if it had not been for the reintegration of Kevin Pietersen, according to Matt Prior, and many would credit the England wicketkeeper for his role in helping the volatile batsman to make peace with his employers.

Dismayed at reading rumours about Pietersen's unhappiness in the dressing room and allegations of text messages that he had sent to members of the South Africa squad, Prior decided to take the matter in hand and speak to the man himself.

According to an interview with Prior in the latest issue of The Cricketer, he telephoned Pietersen from a train heading to Brighton, surrounded by apparently oblivious fellow passengers. -- The Times, London.
