India trying to bring back jawan's head: Army chief

The army chief says that the government is trying to bring back diplomatically Lance Naik Hemraj's head, which was taken away by Pakistani army personnel as a trophy after he was brutally killed and beheaded.

Gen Bikram Singh says that the army top brass is happy and can be happy only when jawans are happy.

Lashing out at the Pakistaini government, in a first, since the firing on the LoC incident last week, Gen Singh said that the entire misinforamtion campaign launched by Pakistan is nothing but a bunch of lies. "I have given directions to all my commanders on the LoC to respond immediately if provoked."

Lance-Naiks Hemraj and Sudhakar Singh of the 13 Rajputana Rifles were killed by Pakistani troops, after sneaking into the Mendhar sector on January 8.
