SC issues notice to CBI, BSNL on petition against Maran

In a big trouble for former Telecom Minister Dayanidhi Maran, the Supreme Court on Friday issued a notice to the Central Bureau of Investigation and state-owned telecommunication company BSNL over petition against Maran in connection with the 2G spectrum scam, reports Jagran.com. 

The petition filed in the Supreme Court alleges that Maran, as telecom minister in year 2007, had diverted 323 ISDN lines of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to his brother Kalanidhi's Sun TV Network.The PIL seeks an investigation against Maran alleging that the scam caused loss of nearly Rs 440 crore to the exchequer. Maran has also been under scrutiny over the Aircel-Marxis deal. The deal involves Maran and a Malaysian business tycoon.
