4 weeks on, UP CM meets gang-rape victim's family

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today met the family members of the 23-year-old woman who was gang-raped on a moving bus on the night of December 16, and promised them all possible help from the state government.Yadav met the family at their native Medawar Kala village and spent about 30-minutes with them.

He spoke to the male members of the family outside the house and later went inside to meet the victim's mother to express his condolences.

The chief minister also presented a cheque of Rs 20 lakhs to the parents of the victim, who died on December 29 at a Singapore hospital.
