Unclaimed suitcase creates panic in Hyderabad

An unclaimed suitcase found near the 8th battalion of Andhra Pradesh Special Police at Kondapur on city outskirts today triggered panic in the area, the police said.

The personnel who found the suitcase alerted the Ramgopalpet police immediately following which a bomb squad was pressed into service. They recovered a fire arm with 12 live bullets in it from the suitcase, a senior officer said.

The suitcase was stolen two days ago from Begumpet area and belongs to one builder, who had lodged a complaint with Ramgopalpet police, the officer added.
