Hate speech: MIM chief refuses to apologise
January 10, 2013  08:51
Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen Party president and member of Lok Sabha from Hyderabad Asaduddin Owaisi has refused to apologise for the alleged controversial comments of his brother Akbaruddin Owaisi.

Akbaruddin, who had claimed he was unwell and failed to turn up at the police station for questioning, was arrested on Wednesday. He was sent to judicial custody by an Adilabad court, which rejected his petition for shifting him to a hospital, even as the police slapped additional charges against him.

Asaduddin stated that the "trial by media" of his brother needs to stop.

Incidentally, Asaduddin Owaisi had earlier withdrawn support from the ruling Congress government in the state, alleging that it was "communal".
