Khap panchayat bans jeans, T-shirt for girls

A khap panchayat in a Hisar village in Haryana has banned mobile phones for youngsters and ordered girls not to wear jeans and T-shirts.

Organising a DJ party is out of bounds and a complete prohibition on liquor has also been issued.

The decision was taken by the panchayat at Khedar village. Sarpanch Shamsher Singh said, "We have decided to ban alcohol as it is the main reason behind rapes. We have also banned jeans and T-shirts for girl students as it is not a proper dress." More on the TOI.
