SC: Can't pass directive for sex offender MPs, MLAs

The Supreme Court seeks the response of the government for a fast-track trial of rape cases and the implementation of existing laws for the safety of women. The SC says it can't pass a directive for the suspension of MPs and MLAs charge sheeted for crime against women.

The Supreme Court is hearing matters related to the setting up of  fast-track courts for a speedy trial in the rape cases and effective implementation of existing laws for safety of women even as the apex court itself and various state administrations showed urgency in rape and women's issues.
