Name and shame: Rape convicts on the web in Haryana

The Haryana police has begun the process of putting the names of convicted rapists on an official website as also on various social networking sites, including Facebook.

The names of those convicted in cases related to crime against women, including rape, molestation and dowry deaths, will be put up on the official website of the Haryana Police Crime Record Bureau (SCRB).

The process would be completed by January 10. Haryana police has started a process to put names, addresses and crime details of at least 2,500 convicted rapists in the past about a decade on the website, a senior police official said here today.
