J-K acid attack victim likely to lose her eye

The 30-year-old school teacher, who suffered severe burns on her face in an acid attack in Jammu and Kashmir, was today flown to Delhi and admitted to a private hospital where doctors said she will require multiple reconstructive surgical procedures.

The school teacher, who was attacked with acid in Parraypora locality of Hyderpora in Srinagar on Wednesday, was being treated at the Sri Maharaja Hari Singh Hospital till this morning.

The woman was flown to the capital this afternoon and was rushed to Indraprastha Apollo Hospital for further treatment, doctors said. After conducting initial diagnosis and mandatory procedures on her, doctors said her condition was stable though her left eye has "sustained significant damage".
