Two students from Lucknow, Tanaya Thakur and her brother Aditya, have given an application for the filing of an FIR at the Gomti Nagar police station, against Hyderabad MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi for his provocative speech on December 24.

The siblings said that the station officer SK Gautam blatantly refused to lodge the complaint in this matter.

Since Owaisi's hate speech is being propagated through the use of Internet, Tanaya and Aditya have requested that the FIR be registered under sections 153A, 295A, 298, 504, 505, 506 IPC and 66A of the IT Act 2000.

However, the station officer said that he would register the FIR only if and when there was any law and order problem erupts and not otherwise. The siblings have now written a letter to the SSP, Lucknow, to register the case under section 154(3) CrPC, complaining about the SO's actions and behaviour.
