While Chidambaram was presenting his budget, the minister's wife Nalini, son Karti, daughter-in-law Srinidhi sat in the visitor's gallery. Several Rajya Sabha members including M S Swaminathan, Ramgopal Yadav, Naresh Agarwal, Murli Deora, V Maitreyan, Satyabrat Chaturvedi, Derek O'Brien and Amar Singh too watched the budget presentation from the gallery.
