Norah Jones gives maiden Oscar performance

Singer Norah Jones, the multiple Grammy winning daughter of late sitar legend Ravi Shankar, gave her maiden performance at the 85th Academy Awards. The 33-year-old performed the jazzy, blues-oriented Oscar nominated song 'Everybody Needs a Best Friend' from "Ted", which has been co-written by Seth MacFarlane, who was also the host for the evening. Film and music were closely linked at this year's ceremony.
