Statements from other parties on the Hyderabad twin blasts.

Anant Geete (Shiv Sena): The incident occurred when there were threats to take revenge after the hanging. Terrorism was being sponsored from across the border and Pakistan has launched a proxy war against India for long.

Sharifuddin Shariq (National Conference): The "devil's acts" needed to be condemned by one and all, there was also a need to go into the causes of terrorism in order to wipe out the menace. He also demanded an all-party meeting, convened by the Prime Minister, for a holistic discussion on the problem.

T R Baalu (DMK) sought joint action by the Centre and the states to tackle terror.

B Mahtab (BJD) wanted to know where the "disconnect" between intelligence agencies and the police lay. "It must not have been an instant decision of the terrorists to carry out such a dastardly attack. It must have taken at least 2-3 days, certain information must have passed through. Did the government know about this?" he said.

Narahari Mahto (Forward Bloc) said yesterday's incident highlighted yet another lapse on part of the central and state governments. He wanted the government to state how it plans to check such incidents.
