"The government is taking firm steps to counter terrorism. Let's not play politics over this," says Shinde. "The government will not slack in solving the case. We will not allow VVIPs to visit the bomb blasts's site and disrupt the work of the police," says Shinde.

The home minister also pitched for the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) saying the government was always for it, but it did not receive support from many states.

"Intelligence inputs from the Centre is generally taken lightly by the states. This is also because we receive intel inputs every 15 days and it is difficult to take all the inputs seriously," says Shinde.  Alerts had been issued on the Hyderabad blasts on February 16, 19 and the 20th, he says.
