A local court today rejected closure report of the CBI regarding death of Deputy Chief Medical Officer Y S Sachan inside Lucknow jail under mysterious circumstances and directed the agency to continue with the investigation.

The order was passed by special judicial magistrate (CBI) Neelkant Mani Tripathi. While CBI had termed Sachan's death as homicide, the deputy CMO's wife, Malti Sachan, had filed a protest application alleging that it was murder.

V K Shahi, counsel of Malti, said that in earlier hearings, the court had heard arguments of both the sides and reserved his decision.

Sachan was found dead inside the toilet on the first floor of the district jail on June 22, 2011 and the post mortem by a panel of doctors had found injuries and one ante mortem injury.
