February 21, 2013  11:57
Government will encourage domestic production of arms and armament.
The government attaches the highest importance to the welfare of servicemen and ex-servicemen. We have announced schemes that will benefit 13 lakh personnel. Applause from all MPs across party lines. Defence minister AK Antony smiles like a proud father.

Pranab says India will continue to seek peace, development, cooperation in the sub-continent.

"We have taken all the requisite measures for the normalization of relations, we remain committed to taking the peace process forward, but it is important for Pakistan to avoid acts that results in trust deficits.

"We will continue to help Afghanistan fight terrorism and in Sri Lanka, India will continue with its process of engagement so that a life of peace, dignity and equality can be pursued by the Tamil people." DMK MPs, thankfully, silent.

That's the big brother part of Pranab's speech.
