Lack of coordination led to Allahabad stampede: BJP
February 19, 2013  19:59
Blaming the Uttar Pradesh government, senior BJP leader Lalji Tandon today said lack of coordination between the Kumbh mela administration and the railways led to the February 10 stampede at Allahabad railway station, which claimed 38 lives.

"I have met a number of officials to get an idea as to why such a tragedy took place. I also met a number of people who had sustained injuries. It can be categorically said that coordination between the Kumbh Mela administration and the railways was absent. It was a failure on part of the state government, which was supposed to achieve a proper coordination," Tandon told reporters.
