SC stays execution of four Veerappan aides till Wednesday

The Supreme Court today stayed the execution of four aides of Sandalwood bandit Veerappan till Wednesday. The four men were sentenced to death for killing 22 policemen and others in a landmine blast in Karnataka in Palar. President Pranab Mukherjee rejected their mercy petitions last week. In Tamil Nadu, Veerappan's wife V Muthulakshmi plans to protest against the death sentence by blocking a road in Erode district. More
