February 16, 2013  18:10
Four aides of slain forest brigand Veerappan have moved the Supreme Court after President Pranab Mukherjee rejected their mercy pleas earlier this week setting the stage for their hanging.

The four Veerappan associates had been awarded life term for the landmine blast at Palar in Karnataka in 1993, which killed 22 policemen.

Once the mercy plea is rejected, the execution is scheduled within 14 days.
