The mother of Geetika Sharma, has committed suicide. Geetika, a 23-year-old former airhostess with MDLR Airlines committed suicide in August last year at her north Delhi's Ashok Vihar residence. She was found hanging at her second floor house by her parents.

Her former employer Gopal Kanda, also former Haryana minister of state for home and managing director of MDLR Group, tendered his resignation from the state council of ministers. Till earlier this month, he was Haryana's powerful minister in-charge of home affairs with the entire police force at his beck and call. Kanda is now in jail.

A non-bailable arrest warrant has been issued by a city court against one of main witnesses-cum-accused in the Geetika Sharma suicide case, HR executive Chanshiv Roop Singh, after the police failed to track him.
