Amit Shah appears in CBI court in Mumbai

BJP leader and former Gujarat minister Amit Shah and other accused in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case today appeared before the special CBI court in Mumbai ahead of the trial.     

The trial of the case has been transferred to Mumbai.     

Former Deputy Inspector General of Police D G Vanzara,one of the accused, has filed an application before the court, requesting that he should be transferred to the Sabarmati Jail in Ahmedabad from the Mumbai jail for security reasons. 

The CBI is likely to file the reply next week. The court adjourned the proceedings to March.
