February 14, 2013  12:09
The Prime Minister Office has called a meeting today at 1 pm at South Block of the heads of the Intelligence Bureau, the Research and Analysis Wing and the  Directorate of Military Intelligence, in order to take a consolidated policy about the role of these agencies. It may be recalled that a petition is before Supreme Court on accountability of intelligence agencies.

A bench presided over by Justice Altamas Kabir sought the response of the government to the PIL by the Centre for Public Interest Litigation (CPIL) seeking accountability of IB, RAW and the National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO) like in other democratic countries such as UK and the US.

The bench has also sought the assistance of Attorney General G.E. Vahanvati in the matter.
