Drought situation in Maharashtra serious: CM

Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan today described as serious the drought situation in the state and said the focus of the state budget in March would primarily be on drought relief measures.

Speaking at a meeting of MPs from the state ahead of the budget session of the Parliament, Chavan said the state will have to tackle the drought situation for the next five to six months.
