Kashmiri journalist speaks out on clampdown

A Delhi-based Kashmiri journalist, Iftikar Gilani, says he was picked up by police on his way to work on Saturday and questioned for hours. Gilani says he was heading to work early to plan reporting of the day's news -- Guru's surprise hanging -- when police approached him in the parking lot.

In detaining him, he says, the police noted that his father-in-law is Syed Ali Shah Geelani, a hardline Kashmiri separatist who earlier Saturday had condemned  Guru's hanging. Read
