Guru hanging legal, not political decision: Shinde

Home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde addressing the media on the execution of Afzal Guru. Shinde say due course of law was followed and the family was sent the news by speed post on February 7. "The cases of Rajiv Gandhi and Beant Singh's killers still pending in court. As per the rule, everything was followed," insists Shinde.

"The execution is not a political decision. The decision was taken as per the law. I personally told Omar Abdullah on 8th that the execution will be held tomorrow [9th]," said Shinde.
