Tight security in Kashmir valley

Mukhtar Ahmad reports from Srinagar:A valley-wide curfew was imposed early on Saturday morning. Police and paramilitary troops were deployed across Kashmir to maintain law and order following the hanging of Parliament attack convict, Afzal Guru in Tihar jail in New Delhi. Early on Saturday morning, police vehicles fitted with loudspeakers have been making rounds in various parts of Srinagar and other major towns announcing the imposition of curfew and asking residents to stay indoors. Security personnel in full riot gear have started patrolling Srinagar, barricading roads to restrict pedestrian and vehicular movement.Sources said Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will arrive in Srinagar to oversee the law and order situation.
