Withdraw VIP security, protect women instead: SC

The Supreme Court has asked the Delhi police to consider withdrawing security for VIPs and using the personnel and the funds then available to bolster the security of women.

Amicus Curae Harish Salve tells the court that crores are being spent on VIP security which can be better used for the security of women which could go a long way in preventing cases like the Delhi gang rape. The court has asks states to file a reply on VIP security by February 11.
