Ambassador Mulay is India's new consul general in US

We are the first to tell you that Ambassador Mulay is now India's new consul general in New York. Dyaneshwar Mulay, who served as India's high commissioner to the Maldives during the coup which deposed President Mohammed Nasheed last year, is India's new consul general in New York.

Ambassador Mulay, who was born in a village (Latur) in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, is a rare diplomat with his origins in rural India.

A published author, Mulay succeeds Ambassador Prabhu Dayal who had an unusual four-and-a-half year term as consul general in New York.
