SC orders release of 2 tmf feet of Cauvery water to TN

Just In: As Finance Minister P Chidambaram and Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari address the media on the anti-rape ordinance, there's some critical development from the Supreme Court.

The SC has directed the Centre to notify the Cauvery Water Dispute Tribunal award by February 20, and holds that the Centre has flouted rules by not notifying the tribunal's award in the last five years.

The apex court also directs the release of 2 TMC feet of Cauvery water toTamil Nadu, and asks the Central Water Commission to file a report within two days on the water requirements of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
