February 01, 2013  17:23
Activist-turned-politician Arvind Kejriwal is holding a press conference in New Delhi exposing 'connivance' between Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and the electricity companies.

The power tariff in Delhi should be half of what it currently is, a said at a press conference on Friday.

Targeting the Delhi government, Kejriwal said, "Delhi government has deliberately stopped the DERC's draft tariff order."

He stated that distribution losses were lesser but the public failed to benefit from that.

The offensive against Delhi government is not new and, in fact, marks the end of a two-month hiatus even as the political group prepares for its electoral debut in the 2014 assembly elections.

Kejriwal alleged that power companies had made nearly Rs 3000 crore in profits.

He also claimed that Dikshit had rejected the DERC's order slashing power tariff.
