Update on the PM's impending presser on January 3. Reports say that Dr Manmohan Singh will set the stage for Rahul Gandhi's anointment as the Congress party's PM candidate for the 2014 polls.

Remember, on several occasions, Dr Singh has maintained that Rahul was the ideal candidate for the job and that he was willing to work under Rahul.

That apart, the January 3 presser is also expected to be a state of the nation address.
