Jammu-Srinagar highway closed for traffic due to snowfall

The 300-km-long Jammu-Srinagar national highway, the only surface link between Kashmir and rest of the country, has been closed for vehicular traffic due to snowfall and slippery conditions.

Due to snowfall at Jawahir Tunnel and Patnitop, the highway was closed during the night, an officer of Police Control Room said here today.

Vehicular traffic was not allowed today on the highway from both the capital cities of Jammu and Srinagar due to snowfall and slippery road conditions along the highway, he said
